Blood Red Road had been recommened to me multiple times, and it seemed exactly like the kind of books I loved, however, I didn’t completely fall for the characters or the world, and I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed.

Another perfect contemporary read! I loved the characters and thought the relationship was so cute! Kasie West tried to deal with some more intense issues but I thought they were pushed to the way-side with the main focus being on Charlie and Braden’s relationship. I fell in love with Charlie’s family, but I much prefer having one twin sister to the thought of four older brothers!

The start of this books is very reminiscent of a John Green novel. It’s got three classic plot points: missing girl, Amsterdam, and general confusion on everyone else’s part. The English school in a foreign country was also along the lines of Anna and the French Kiss. With these comparisons in mind I was expecting to really enjoy This Is Not A Love Story, but in actuality I am very confused by this book. It has a lot of good stuff like the complicated nature of imagining someone like they’re not realistic, and mystery and a strong female character. Plus, because both characters were Jewish there was a lot of Jewish culture that made this story really enriching. However, there were also some confusing morals like ‘I’ll just date you so that you can get over your ex’ which had me feeling slightly uncomfortable.

Okay, so the epilogues for this series so far are incredible! I need Soldier in my possession ASAP. How I’m supposed to go on when the final reveal changes EVERYTHING I don’t know! Rogue is a great sequel to Talon; it’s just as action-packed, with 100% more conspiracy. I have to say that I missed the blend of the contemporary/fantasy thing Talon had going on, but this series is definitely heading in an interesting and new direction.

Dragons that can turn into humans: Who wouldn’t want to read that? Julie Kagawa always delivers a really action-packed contemporary/fantasy cross over, and Talon was no exception. The premise is so original and I’ve never seen it done before, the whole logistics of it may seem a bit crazy, but if you can look over the fact that dragons the size of buses can squeeze into a tiny human frame then you’re in for a wild ride.

I have to say that I was slightly disappointed by this book as a whole. 550 pages is probably one of the longest books I read, and I didn’t think that enough actually happened to make this as much of an engaging read as the first two books in the series – which I LOVED, by the way. The writing style was still incredible, and Rowan’s character development was unparalleled. Sarah J. Maas, is an extremely talented writer, but I still didn’t enjoy Heir of Fire all that much and found myself really having to push towards the end. HOWEVER, I think this book has set up Queen of Shadows to be absolutely amazing, I just wish it could have done that with 200 less pages!

It took a long time for this story to get going, but my my was it a roller coaster of emotions. After the cliffhanger of The Fiery Heart I really didn’t know what to expect, but I knew that Sydney was strong so she, together with Adrian, would be able to get over the situation. The dual perspective really payed off in this book, because it really helped to keep the pace moving. the last 25% however, was a totally whirlwind of adventure. I thought it was a little crazy, and kind of ridiculous, but I loved it anyway. I mean, who wouldn’t?

As much as I loved hearing about how wonderful Sydney and Adrian felt in their newfound relationship, I was pretty annoyed that the main plot line is that the want to have sex with one another. Their lust for one another totally outweighed the seriousness of the tattoo ink, which felt a lot like a sub plot. This book was very slow and altogether not my favourite sequel.

Yes! I can finally finish the Glass series! I’ve had these books on my shelves literally for years, and I kinda wish I hadn’t put them off! Opal went through a massive change in personality in the previous book so it was interesting to see where she was going to end up. I think I enjoyed this book the most out of the series, surprisingly, because it had everything I needed! In my previous review I made comments about needing Valek, Pazia and more on the Bloodrose clan, and Maria certainly delivered!
