Maddie has always loved the Delirium series and she has a whole video just explaining her reasoning, and almost defending the series, because you’ll see a lot of reviews out there that say the series went down hill and the ending wasn’t what they were expecting/wanted. So, my reading experience was slightly different to perhaps others, because although I knew about the problems people had, Delirium was hyped a lot by Maddie.

As I said in my review of the first book, this series is super addicting. I can’t believe how quickly I managed to read ‘Flawless’, every chapter seemed to take two minutes to digest. Is that a good thing? Hmm…

A while ago, I picked up this book because it had an interesting cover, an interesting blurb, and BookTube couldn’t stop talking about it. I was in the mood for a contemporary romance, and choosing Simon’s story was the best decision ever. Here are a few reasons to love this book, because, as you can see, my rating wasn’t less than perfect! Continue reading “Review: Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli”

This is one of my favourite books. Ever After. I’m reading the series again to set myself up for the third and final book ‘The Last Ever After’ and, boy, was I glad I made that decision. This is a five star book. It’s genius, and filled with all of my favourite things! Ahh, I’m just a huge fangirl for this trilogy! So, here are my reasons for loving TSFGAE sooooo much:

I received this Birdy from Hot Key Books in exchange for an honest review.
Okay, so this book is one of those unsuspecting stories where you start and think, ‘okay, yeah, I could get into this!’ and as you go things become more and more unsettling and you curse the fact that it’s slow paced because what is even happening?!

I read these books back to back because I had to know what happened next. I practically didn’t put them down! Thank goodness they’re each less than 250 pages because I could finish the series in one sitting. The first book Mind Games reminded me of a Saoirise Ronan film ‘Violet & Daisy’, which, although it’s a bit weird, I still really enjoyed. This was probably why I liked the first book so much because the sisters’ relationship in particular was reminiscent of the film.

A short review today because I can’t give a lot away without spoiling the book. But, I still feel the need to let you know that The Perfectionists is definitely a series worth reading. On Goodreads the caption is: ‘The shocking sequel to The Perfectionists—with an ending you’ll have to read to believe!’ and I couldn’t agree more. My jaw was on the floor. Here’s why.

Review: The Monster High Series by Lisi Harrison

monster-high-books-2012-picI love Monster High! I have a bunch of the dolls and really loved the whole concept when I first discovered MH in 2012. Maddie read the books a few months ago and said they were definitely worth reading for fans of MH and I have to agree! Also, it helps that each book in only around 230 pages long so I zipped through the series in, like, two days!

I read ‘Pretty Little Liars’ in order to prepare myself for ‘The Perfectionists’ and get a little taste for Sara Shepard’s writing. For me, this was another hit, a book I enjoyed more than PLL…but that’s probably because I loved a good murder mystery. Bring out the body, girls, let’s see what you’ve got.  Continue reading “Review: The Perfectionists by Sara Shepard”

I really wanted to dive into a new series. If I’d have known PLL was about 16 books long, then maybe I’d have reconsidered my decision. Knowing nothing about the TV show and therefore the plot, I was pleasantly surprised by my reaction to ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and it’s ability to draw you in  and wrap you up in the lies, just as much as the characters.
