Just when you think there is no possible way that this series could get any better, it does! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Richelle Mead really does know how to build a series. I’ve grown to love Sydney, but of course I love Adrian ever more! The witchy-magic element is so interesting, and the cliffhanger has got be begging for The Fiery Heart!

Contrary to the majority, I actually enjoyed Pivot Point more, although this book really did tie up all the loose ends of the series I felt that it was kind of tedious, and certainly not as gripping as the first book. I think the addition of Laila’s voice added to the story, but the differing perspectives weren’t as enjoyable, for me anyway, as the two different voices of Addie that made Pivot Point so original.

I’m really beginning to get into this series, I somehow manages to read The Golden Lily in two sittings and I’m desperate to know what’s going to happen next. Sydney is a really interesting narrator, and luckily I got just what I thought was missing for Bloodlines -more humour!

I have started and completed this series in the space of four days, and now that it’s over I can feel the post-series depression settling in. Legend was my first 5 star review of the year, and now when anybody asks me what my favourite books are this series will definitely be in the roll-call. Champion was a bittersweet ending to this incredible series. Prodigy is just as action packed as its predecessor, with added heart-wrenching moments! Day and June’s story continues in this epic sequel that takes place right after the end of Legend. I can’t seem to get enough of this series. If I’m not in the middle of reading the next book then I’m looking at fan art or reading as many raving reviews as I can. This series is amazing, and Prodigy did not disappoint as a sequel, even though you often find “second-book syndrome” in trilogies Prodigy didn’t feel like it was written solely with the purpose to get to the end.

I haven’t given a five star review in what feels like forever, but I can say with absolute certainty that Legend is a five star book. The action never stops, and it’s the perfect mix of everything good about dystopian fiction. It was thrilling and fast-paced, I loved the characters, and the Oh No! and WHAT? moments. Legend had me on the edge of my seat. I was literally unable to put it down. I may even go as far as today Legend is the best book I have read so far this year.

I am so unbelievably happy to be back in the world of the damphir and Moroi! Not to mention the Alchemists, which is the category that protagonist Sydney falls into. So there might not be any Rose and Lissa, but fans of the Vampire Academy series are bound to love this new spin-off series just as much – I know I did!

Starters is incredibly fast paced, and if I’m honest, rather confusing to begin with. We’re thrown straight into the world and the story picks up with Callie, the protagonist, visiting a ‘body bank.’ I thought this book was going to be a lot more sci-fi than it actually was. Starters focussed more on character relationships, which meant it took quite a while for the plot to pick up.

The cliffhanger at the end of Mark of Athena meant that I absolutely had to continue with the series straight away! I was surprised at how long Percy and Annabeth spent in Tartarus, as I’ve leaned that my favourite sections are when everyone is together. TOGETHER, RICK. Nonetheless, House of Hades was another wonderful sequel – action packed, with just enough romance to satisfy YA readers.

I have mixed feelings about this ending. That’s probably to do with the nature of it being an ending. It’s hard to say goodbye to characters that I’ve really got to love over the past month, where I’ve tried to blitz my way through the series. Okay, so yes, I was slightly disappointed that Percy and Annabeth didn’t get a perspective – neither did Frank and Hazel! – and I can see why those that read BoO when it was a new release would have found this particularly devastating. Maybe it was because I was prepped for this lack of Percabeth that I didn’t feel too remorseful when they didn’t pop up after a Jason chapter. But what I also appreciate is that I wouldn’t have had the series end any other way. It started with Jason, Piper and Leo, so it should end with Jason, Piper and Leo. But, you know, with the odd bit of Reyna and Nice thrown in for good measure.
