Finally! I feel as if Night Study has found some of the original magic that made me fall in love with the Study series in the first place. Shadow Study was okay, but it wasn’t the best opener to a new series, but Night Study raised the bar so much, meaning I’m now super pumped to read the finale! Night Study is literally bursting with awesome characters, intense magic and complicated villains. If you haven’t gotten lost in the Chronicles of Ixia yet then you’ve got a lot of reading a head of you.

I really loved the first book and was super excited to see how the series would conclude. I can happily say that I liked the ending and to a certain extent, wish there had been more!

Maddie has always loved the Delirium series and she has a whole video just explaining her reasoning, and almost defending the series, because you’ll see a lot of reviews out there that say the series went down hill and the ending wasn’t what they were expecting/wanted. So, my reading experience was slightly different to perhaps others, because although I knew about the problems people had, Delirium was hyped a lot by Maddie.

I haven’t read a vampire book since Vampire Academy, and I thought I’d read it all. Oh boy, was I wrong! The Immortal Rules is an incredible dystopian/ paranormal blend that introduces vampires as you’ve never read them before. At first I was hesitant, but I’m so glad I gave it a change. I loved the world building and all of the characters. This book went in so many different directions that you never could have predicted the ending from how it started.

It’s the summer, I was in need of a contemporary and Maddie and I just so happened to take a trip to our local library and we picked up a whole bunch of things! Fixing Delilah being one of them. I hadn’t heard anything about it previously, making it the perfect contemporary to leap into! I was definitely not expecting to like it as much as I did, but, man, Fixing Delilah was an amazing start to my summer of reading. My mum really loved people based movies that focus on familial relationships, specifically the bond between sisters, and I think this would perfectly fit the bill. So, if you want to have your heartstrings pulled and uncover a bit of mystery then I suggest you try and find your library’s copy too!

As a finale to a trilogy, this book was something incredibly different. It wasn’t ‘Mockingjay’, and it wasn’t ‘Allegiant’. It wasn’t wild, it wasn’t action-packed, but the calm after the storm of ‘Fractured’. I didn’t know what was going to happen to Kyla, and where she was going to go, but I sure was pleased with were she ended up.

Plot and Pacing
